Ghana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) to strengthen collaboration in the country’s automotive industry, marking a major step toward advancing green mobility and industrial growth.

The agreement was signed by the Minister for Trade, and Industry, Hon. , on the sidelines of the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) in Yokohama, . It focuses on promoting environmentally friendly vehicles, beginning with Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), as part of Ghana’s efforts to support green mobility and reduce carbon emissions through a multi-pathway approach.

In addition to vehicle promotion, the MoU includes human resource development through technical training, knowledge transfer, and the potential establishment of a Toyota Academy in Ghana. The partnership will also explore initiatives to expand Ghana’s automotive market and support the country’s broader industrialisation agenda.
